Actress and Singer Mayumi Yoshida was born in Yokohama,Japan. Her father being a journalist/columnist she had an international childhood living in Washington D.C.,Brussels,and Tokyo most of her life. In Tokyo,through 2005-2009 she starred in 25 theatre productions. She moved to Vancouver in 2010 to attend Vancouver Film School Acting for Film and Television Program. In addition to appearing in school productions, she also came first place in the monologue competition and won "Best outstanding performance" for her role in "There's no end" at the 2012 Spring Impact Awards. Mayumi graduated from VFS in 2011 and now works for VFS. She is good friends with Bill Marchant, the head of Vancouver Film School. Mayumi speaks fluent Japanese and English. While auditioning for a Vancouver Film School compendium project, her audition was so real that people outside the room almost went in and tried to rescue her. Later of the week, she found out she got the part.
